FAQs

  • Depending on your scalp health, if you have oily/greasy scalp you'll most likely feel inclined to wash it more often (Every other day). If your hair and scalp are on the drier side every other day or every two days would be a general timeline.

  • Its advised to use a daily conditioner or rinse every time you wash your hair to ensure your hair is getting the daily dose of hydration + moisture. Daily conditioners are only surface penetrating meaning it only coats the top part of the cuticle.

Deep conditioning treatments are thicker in appearance and are meant to penetrate deeper into the cuticle. Usually offer a lot more benefits than a regular conditioner. Depending on what your hair is in need of conditioning treatments target severely damage to dry/brittle. Even the healthiest of hair can benefit from a deep conditioner once a week for added shine and softness.

Depending on how damaged your hair is you can do a deep conditioning treatment 2-3 x a week until your hair starts to show improvement and then drop down your treatments to once a week.

  • As your hair artist I only recommend professional hair care brands. Not because I am interested in making money and only selling my product but I have done a lot of research on what is in store bought shampoos and conditioners.

Its with utmost sincerity that I highly suggest buying from a professional salon or directly from a hair professional.

  • This can be caused by a couple different reasons. One culprit could be your hair care. Not all haircare is made the same. I always recommend SULFATE FREE shampoos. Sulfate free shampoos help retain the moisture so that it keep your hairs natural oils intact. Sulfates can cause irritation and dryness, therefore causing your scalp to dry out.

The grease can also be caused by a build up of dimethecone or hair product. Clarifying your hair once a week can help combat this.

Second culprit could be that your professional hair products are too heavy for your hair. Haircare is a lot like skin care and is meant to target specific needs. Check your shampoo and conditioner if its meant to aid in your specific hair needs.

  • The main culprit could be your hair tie! That's right. even your hair tie can cause damage. Even if you're hair isn't blonde or color treated it can still suffer breakage. I always suggest using the little squiggly phone cord looking bands, silk or velvet scrunchies. Limit the amount of tension you place on your hair, if you have to use a stronger hair tie DO NOT use them while your hair is wet.

  • Excessive heat styling can cause your hair to acquire split ends. It’s extremely important to also use heat protecting products to combat against heat damage. If you're flat ironing I either suggest incorporating a good pre-blowdry or air dry smoothing balm/cream. Another good option would be a heat protectant spray that you can use prior to flat iron or curling iron styles.

  • Clarifying or detox shampoos should be used once a week to exfoliate/detox the scalp and strands of excess product and sebum. Think of this shampoo as like a reset button. This is also a great way to maintain the scalps health. Just like the skin on our face our scalp can also get clogged with product and sebum.
